Closer to the real amp

The hardware could always do all of this. The factory software never let it. UltraRig is new software for the same pedal that puts every bit of the chip to work.
NAM A2-Lite captures in place of the factory's AM4. The details you feel under your fingers, pick attack and harmonics, come out like the real amp.
Each cabinet file plays almost twice as long, so the low end and the room around the speaker stay in. And they are your own files.
NAM captures are trained at 48 kHz. The factory runs the pedal at 44.1 kHz; UltraRig runs it at 48 kHz from input to output, so captures play exactly as they were made.
Up to 16 effects per sound from a library of 32, in any order, even side by side. Two drives, a compressor, two delays and a reverb, all at once.
And you're in control. Change sounds from your browser or phone, and give each footswitch one action on a tap, another on a double tap and another on a hold.
*Error: how far the capture's output is from the real amp's (ESR, lower is better; NAM calls under 0.05 good). Our own test: one high-gain amp captured into both formats with the same processing budget and 75 minutes of training each, then measured on guitar the models had never heard. AM4 keeps improving with longer training, so with the factory's own captures the gap may be closer to 2–3×.
The factory software locks you into four slots in a fixed order. UltraRig gives you up to 16 effects to put anywhere you like.

15 slots: NAM A2 Lite, AM2, AM3, AM4
8 slots: your .wav at 48 kHz
What changes in the sound, explained without the jargon.
A capture is a recording of how a real amp behaves. Play softly and it cleans up, dig in and it growls, the way the real one does.
A cabinet file holds the sound of a speaker and its microphone. The factory editor cut those files short. UltraRig plays almost twice as much of each one, at 48 kHz, so the low end and the room come through.
Digital distortion can add a harsh fizz that a real pedal never makes. UltraRig works out every drive at a higher internal rate, which keeps that fizz out.
UltraRig runs the chip faster and hands the heaviest math to a calculator built into it. The amp and the cabinet take less of the chip's time, so more effects fit in one sound.

Everything you need on stage, under your feet. Try them here.
Each preset keeps four snapshots: the same chain with different effects on and different knob settings. Clean verse, crunchy chorus, lead with delay, all one stomp away.
Every footswitch does three jobs: one for a tap, one for a double tap and one for a hold. You choose them, and the lights around the switch show what's on.
Tap a footswitch on the beat and the delay repeats in time with the song. Try it: tap the button a few times.
Put a pitch shifter first in the chain and the whole guitar sounds lower, with no retuning. Pick a tuning.

Two small Windows programs. Nothing to configure.
A free, read-only program looks at your pedal and PC and writes a short report.
The installer backs up the whole memory twice, compares the copies, then writes UltraRig.
Open the editor and build a chain. Run the installer again to go back to factory.
You need a Tank-G v2 on factory firmware 96 or 97, Windows 10 or 11, a USB data cable, and Chrome or Edge. The app needs Android 7 or newer. Start with the pedal check.
Your original firmware is saved before anything changes.
It never erases or writes the pedal.
The whole 1 MiB memory, copied twice and compared before anything is written.
A cut-off write leaves a recovery drive that the installer can rewrite.
Three failed starts open recovery mode, and a watchdog restarts a frozen pedal.
Alpha: not released yet, install at your own risk. UltraRig is still being tested. Some things don't work right yet and we're fixing bugs as testers find them. It's unofficial, installing it voids the pedal's warranty, and under heavy load the pedal can restart by itself. Don't rely on it at a gig yet.
UltraRig is a personal, independent project, not connected to M-VAVE. It runs on the Tank-G v2 today. More pedals may follow, and you can help pick which.
